Powerhouse Theatre is the
local theatre located in The Sermon Center on the southeast corner of
Noland road and Truman road in Independence Missouri. The foundation is a
group of volunteers that oversees the upkeep of the Powerhouse theatre. The
volunteers are the local citizens, members of the theatre groups and
employees of the city. They are in the process of upgrading the light
system and replacing the seats. The foundation has recently upgraded
the sound system and curtains with the donations made from the proceeds of
the productions held in the Theatre by the 3 Independence community theatre
groups:
* Encore theatre - the
theatre for 50 + and the
young at heart
* City Theatre - all ages are
welcome and do some of the
more
recognized plays
* CPT
( Children's Performing
Theatre ) - ages 5 to 15 the
productions
are put on by children for
the children
